Ballou High School site of national kick-off event for National Chemistry Week

The Ballou Senior High School in southeast Washington, D.C., will receive the first of more than 12,000 chemistry reference books being donated to teachers across the country, as part of this year's National Chemistry Week celebration. A ceremony marking the kick-off takes place Oct. 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the school. The event is sponsored by the American Chemical Society, in partnership with Merck & Co., Inc., publishers of the internationally recognized handbook that is being donated, The Merck Index.
